I'm old enough to remember the BANALITY of life in the 70's and how exciting it was when PUNK EXPLODED into our conciousness in '76.

Here was a moment that took the UK by the throat and gave it a good shake.

Malcolm McClaren teamed up with Vivian Westwood and they spawned a revolution in clothing design, enabling and encouraging followers to do it themselves. From a tiny store in the Kings Road a proper revolution took place. A lot of amazing, outrageous, jaw dropping designs were made out of re-used, re-purposed materials with original design thinking. We could do it on our kitchen table. No corporations, no marketing, the only influencers were on stage singing (shouting) their heads off.

With the state of things as they are, not only in fast fashion but about every other important aspect of our Planetry future, we should be saying NO! and singing and sewing to our own tune.

The SEX PISTOLS knew how to shake things up.

Bring it on!

I painted with light - visual storytelling. Now I'm sculpting with words. Habitually slipping into screenwriting.
